Metal Cleaning, Removal of Mill & Processing Oil:

In soak or hand washing operations Safe-N-Clean is an excellent cleaner for the removal of mill and processing oil. Safe-N-Clean also may be used in spray wash systems as is, where foam is no problem, [ Safe-N-Clean /DF for no foam or low foam ]. In soak or hand operations, use Safe-N-Clean at an approximate concentration of 1 part Safe-N-Clean to 30 parts water. The ratio can be changed to fit different conditions. In spray operations, start at a concentration of 1 part Safe-N-Clean to 20 parts water.

Safe-N-Clean is successfully in hot tank degreasing operations, at ratio's of 20 parts water to 1 part Safe-N-Clean In more severe applications, where stronger chemicals have to be added using 5% Safe-N-Clean per volume, will increase the activity of the regular hot tank compound, enhance the risibility, and retard the formation of oil and grease scum. To eliminate grease rings that form in hot degreaser tanks, add Safe-N-Clean to the hot tank degreaser compound at roughly 5% by volume. The solution life will be significantly extended, and grease and oil film residues on parts removed from the solution will usually be eliminated. When used in a parts washer Safe-N-Clean s chemical properties enable users to remove oils and other contaminants. Leaving the solution to stand overnight allows oils to separate and rise to the surface for easy removal. Skimming off dirty oils extends the useful life of the cleaning solution. This system works in alkaline metal etch tanks to improve the uniformity of the etch, and retard the formation of KoH and metal ion scales. Because of no chlorine and halogen, Safe-N-Clean is excellent for use in cleaning titanium.

Where the job is heavy enough to require added strength, as much as 10% caustic soda may be added and still allow excellent risibility. Safe-N-Clean combined with 2% by volume SiO2/Na2O at a concentration of 1 part Safe-N-Clean solution to 4 parts water shows excellent corrosion preventive characteristics on ferrous metals. Dip or flow on and let air dry - DO NOT RINSE. Note: KERICO/ Safe-N-Clean provides pre-mixed solutions on request.

There are many more applications for Safe-N-Clean Industrial Cleaner Degreaser. When in doubt, try a test spot. On smooth surfaces, spray on and wipe off is usually sufficient. On grained or rough surfaces or where exceptionally difficult stains or soils are encountered, some agitation with an appropriate brush may be required. Where applicable, always wash from the bottom up and rinse from the top down. This will prevent streaking.
